Cory Czuczman, a second year Drexel Community Scholar (DCS), was awarded the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s 2012 “Good Citizen” Scholarship.

The scholarship is made possible by two endowments established at the Association of Independent Colleges and Universities of Pennsylvania. It is reserved for students who have shown an extraordinary commitment to community service and who have demonstrated creativity in shaping their volunteer activities.

As a DCS, Cory has served over 500 hours with the non-profit organization Squash Smarts, and currently, the Wright Recreation Center here in West Philadelphia. Cory has been working with the Wright Recreation Center to enhance their after-school programming through volunteer recruitment and capacity-building. Additionally, Cory stands out as a leader among his peers by facilitating on-going conversations and workshops on bridging the gap between community service, activism, and politics.

Congratulations Cory!
